Rapper, Odumodublvck caused a stir at the 17th Headies Awards ceremony held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, on Sunday, after he refused to exit the stage after receiving his award for the Next Rated.
Odumodublvck, who stormed the stage with his mother and over 10 men, had his microphone cut off midway into his acceptance speech and asked to leave the stage to enable the organisers manage time but he declined.
The organisers were forced to restore his microphone connection to allow him finish his speech.
I have fought against many obstacles like this, despite the odds being stacked against me. A few years ago, we had numerous feelings that our music could not convey.
“The world will clap us down; ‘you can’t be this way,’ or ‘you can’t talk like that,’ ‘you can’t act like this,’ ‘you can’t put out music like this.’
“My presence here today proves that all those things are fallacies. It only would have been possible through my Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, who have been there for me through thick and thin. Tonight, God has shown that God reigns,” the rapper said after his microphone was restored.
Odumodublvck defeated his frequent collaborator Shallipopi, Qing Madi, Ayo Maff and Nasboi to win the keenly contested Next Rated category.
The award was presented to him by Afrobeats ace, Davido.
The Headies next Rated award comes with a car prize.
DAILY POST recalls that last year Odumodublvck got a prize of house in Lagos after winning the Rookie of the Year award at the 16th Headies, which was held in Atlanta Georgia.
