Former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika denied on Wednesday that he was involved in the opposition coalition’s plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu in 2022.
When the former minister appeared on Channels TV’s Morning Brief, he clarified that he was not involved with the group and would never be.
Sirika merely responded, “No, I am not,” when asked to clarify the rumors of his purported involvement.
I was in the Presidential Villa yesterday with Chief Bayo Onanuga, who informed me that I was part of the coalition. I informed him that I was not and would never be. “I got that from the reports,” he said. It’s democracy, so anyone can join a coalition,” he continued.
Similarly, when asked to explain his recent trip to Aso Rock, the former minister stated that it was to formally offer President Tinubu his condolences after the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The meeting was held to formally offer our condolences to the President, who performed exceptionally well following the passing of our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari,” he stated.
