2027: Ohanaeze: We didn’t request that Peter Obi drop out of the race.

2027: Ohanaeze: We didn’t request that Peter Obi drop out of the race.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the leading Igbo sociocultural organization, has denied rumors that it counseled Peter Obi to drop out of the 2027 presidential contest.

Additionally, the group denied claims that it lobbied northern politicians to oppose Obi’s bid for president.

Ohanaeze characterized the allegations as mischievous actions by “street urchins” in a statement released on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu.

The statement added, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has been made aware of a false report that is making the rounds on social media, which claims that the apex Igbo body advised Mr. Peter Obi not to run for president in 2027.”

Additionally, is stated that Ohanaeze warned the North not to support his candidacy. We would like to make it clear that the honorable apex Igbo organization did not make such a malicious and deceptive statement.

A bunch of “clandestine starving street urchins who parade a phantom, ludicrous brown-envelope Ohanaeze, with POS as their address,” Chukwu said, were responsible for the statement.

He underlined that Ohanaeze Ndigbo could not have made such a “ignominious” statement under the direction of respectable individuals like Senator John Azuta Mbata (President-General), Prince Okey Nwadinobi (Deputy President-General), and Emeka Sibeudu (Secretary-General).

The group reaffirmed, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo is dedicated to the welfare of the Igbo nation and national development through justice, fairness, and equity.”

“We continue to be nonpartisan and have not endorsed any candidate or taken a stance on the 2027 presidential election.”

When “incurable mercenaries unconscionably parading the Ohanaeze brand to execute the pecuniary bidding of their political paymasters,” the group advised the public and media to ignore such utterances.
