IMPI: Earnings of $1.7 billion indicate potential in non-oil exports

The Independent Media and Policy Initiatives (IMPI) noted that the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) reported $1.7 billion in export earnings for the first quarter of 2025, highlighting the vast potential of non-oil exports. The announcement was made in Abuja on Tuesday at an economic press conference by Omoniyi M. Akinsiju (PhD), the chairman of IMPI.
He stated: “According to a report from the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nigeria earned N9.65 trillion from non-oil exports in 2024. This marks a considerable rise from the N3.14 trillion noted in 2023. Nigeria’s non-oil exports amounted to $5.45 billion in US dollars, representing a 20.7 percent rise from the prior year.
