A report has indicated that the inflow of foreign exchange into the economy has reached a six-year peak, with foreign exchange (fx) inflows totaling $5.96bn in May.
According to FMDQ data, total inflows into the Nigeria Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) increased by 62% from $3.67 billion in April 2025 to $5.96 billion in May 2025
The surge was primarily fueled by a considerable rise in inflows from both domestic and international sources.
The data showed that domestic sources, responsible for 83.2% of total inflows, surged by 64.2%, rising from $3.02 billion to $4.96 billion—marking a six-year peak.
