Daily Trust can report that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) generated an impressive N881 billion from customers within its franchise area in Q1 2025, yet it has been accused of failing to fulfill its duty to repair faulty electrical installations such as transformers, poles, and meters.
This is in spite of multiple explanations from the Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) clarifying that customers are not responsible for paying for or repairing any faulty installations.
For residents of Masaka, in Nasarawa State, the rainstorm that knocked off several poles that supply electricity to the community threw them into darkness for three months.
