The Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos Sector Command, has sent officers, men, and operational vehicles throughout the state, including two recently donated patrol cars from the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, in an attempt to guarantee a trouble-free Easter celebration.
During a media briefing along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor as part of a monitoring trip, Sector Commander Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat revealed this.
The sector commander emphasized the corps’ preparedness to guarantee everyone’s safety on the roads throughout the 2025 Easter celebrations in a statement released on Friday by the Sector Public Education Officer, Elizabeth Jayeola.
“To facilitate vehicle movement and guarantee the safety of all road users throughout the 2025 Easter period, both Regular and Special Marshals have been strategically positioned across major highways, inner roads, and festive routes,” stated Hamzat.
He added that in order to enable quick emergency response and rescue operations, the FRSC has placed standby ambulances along vital corridors.
For quick emergency response and rescue efforts, backup ambulances will be placed along important arteries.
“To ensure a smooth entry and exit of Lagos during this festive period, we are also working with relevant traffic and emergency stakeholders,” he continued.
To reinforce compliance, Hamzat revealed that mobile courts will be on standby to prosecute traffic offenders on the spot, focusing particularly on high-risk violations.
“Mobile court operations will be active to swiftly prosecute traffic offenders, with a special focus on offences such as drunk driving, speeding, expired tyres, seat belt violation, and use of phones while driving,” he said.
He appealed to motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement personnel during the holiday period.
“Drivers must avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. One night of thrill should not lead to a lifetime of regret. Fix your wipers, drive cautiously, and remember, your family awaits you,” he cautioned.
The sector commander also urged pedestrians and other vulnerable road users to remain alert, avoid unsafe crossing habits, and be conscious of the traffic environment.
“FRSC Lagos remains committed to a crash-free celebration and encourages all residents to play their part in making this possible,” the statement concluded.
