Abubakar Malami, the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, has voiced faith in the new opposition coalition’s ability to overcome internal strife, sabotage, and competing goals in the run-up to the general elections in 2027.
Malami acknowledged in a recent interview that political partnerships are frequently susceptible to crises and infiltration, but he reassured that the coalition is ready for such difficulties.
“You cannot rule out infiltration, sabotage, or personal ambitions in any political arrangement,” he stated. “However, we are determined to keep going and dedicated to conquering any obstacles that may come up.”
Malami, who recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has been a pivotal member of the expanding alliance aimed at undermining the power of the ruling party.
Although ambition is a natural part of politics, he pointed out that a coalition’s strength is its capacity to control conflicting interests in a disciplined and cohesive manner.
“Aims are a part of political engagement, but how those ambitions are managed is what really counts,” he continued.
