Marcus Rashford, an attacker for Manchester United, has insisted on playing a key part if he signs with Barcelona.
El Nacional, a Catalan news source, claims that Rashford will only sign with the Catalan team if manager Hansi Flick assures him of a key position in the team.
The England international has his sights set on a spot at the 2026 World Cup and won’t be content with a bench role.
According to the source, if he is not offered a significant role in the club for the upcoming season, the 27-year-old is reportedly prepared to decline a move to the La Liga champions.
Given that Flick’s team was unable to capture their top target, Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, Rashford’s possible transfer to the Blaugrana seems more realistic.
But according to numerous reports, Barcelona’s second option after Rashford is Luis Diaz of Liverpool.
Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga winners, are also interested in Diaz, so Barca will have to contend with them.
