By successfully holding the inaugural Bolt Public Safety Summit in Lagos, Bolt, Africa’s top ride-hailing platform, has reaffirmed its unshakable dedication to driver and passenger safety.
This comes as the platform has seen a 42% decrease in offline travel over the previous three months, suggesting that in-app safety features are being used more frequently
Even though the summit brought together government, law enforcement, civic society, media, and the Bolt rider community, it was preceded earlier in the day by a Safety Press Briefing.In addition to showcasing Bolt’s continuous investments in technology, driver education, and platform integrity, the event offered a rare forum for candid discussions with riders on safety standards and mutual obligations in urban mobility.
According to Bolt, the platform saw a 42% decrease in offline travel over the previous three months, which suggests that in-app safety features are being used more frequently.
Furthermore, from 7,839 users in January to 31,216 users in June, the Trusted Contacts function saw a 298% increase in usage. Additionally popular was the Pick-Up Code feature, which 5,568 Nigerian riders enabled
