Music executive Soso Soberekon has been accused of disrespect by social media user VeryDarkMan.
VeryDarkMan was replying to Soso’s suggestion that he and singer Portable fight in a boxing bout.
According to the DAILY POST, in the midst of Portable and VeryDarkMan’s continuous online feud, Soso had offered N120 million for a suggested boxing match.
In an Instagram video posted on Sunday night, VeryDarkMan responded to the proposition by accusing Soso of showing him contempt by making the offer.
VeryDarkMan recounts how he turned down a $100,000 bout with American artist 50 Cent in 2024 and asked for $1 million to fight alongside Portable.
“Alright, so make I quickly respond to Soso Soberekon for this disrespect. What I’m about to say now, you confirm it from Tunde Ednut because my phone is with EFCC. So last year I was supposed to have the biggest event in Africa.
“It was a fight between myself and 50 Cent. You can confirm from the president of the boxing federation, Omo-Agege. Tunde Ednut was following the process but it didn’t work from my side. First thing, 50 Cent was requesting for 2 million dollars upfront from his complete payment of 5 million dollars. They now said they want to pay me 100,000 dollars, and I said no it won’t work. I said if 50 Cent is going to take 5 million dollars then I will collect 1 million dollars.
“Early this year again after I came back from China, they brought another offer but the money wey them still they talk no dey reasonable. So, you see where the level dey? It didn’t work because I’m not going to take one kind low thing to go and be on the ring, I know my worth.
Let’s return to Soso Berekon now. Saying, “You won, carry me, now go fight for as low as N100 million,” is rude. Are you aware of the amount of money I donate to charities around this time? N100 million: what is it? Tell me waka if you wish to offend me.
You can’t even purchase a decent home in Abuja with N100 million. Soso, disregard your age; you are quite disrespectful. I doubt you get that amount of money, but if you want me to fight, you’ll need to bring half a million dollars before I can sit down with you to talk about the balance.
