Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, has made it clear that terrorists and bandits do not control any local government area in the state.
Mutfwang made the claim on Tuesday at an interactive session with reporters at the New Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos, where he gave them an update on the actions his government has done to address the state’s insecurity.
The governor stressed that the government has made progress in contrast to what is being reported and shown in the media, even though there have been isolated incidents of violence in various local government areas, including Riyom, Bokkos, Bassa, and Mangu.
He pointed out that Plateau State is comparatively safer than other northern states like Zamfara, Niger, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Katsina, and Kebbi, despite what the outside world is led to believe.
After taking office on May 29, 2023, Mutfwang explained, he immediately established a security committee to investigate the state’s persistent insecurity problems and determine a solution. The committee has been working nonstop to ensure that the state’s insecurity is significantly reduced.
In addition, he pledged to restructure Operation Rainbow to support the military’s task force to keep the state peaceful, Operation Safe Haven.
