Sterling Bank has revealed the first beneficiaries of its N2 billion Beyond Education Scholarship, a national program aimed at providing 600 outstanding young Nigerians with university funding and preparing them for future employment in high-impact fields.
The decision is a significant milestone in the Bank’s commitment to strategic human capital investment for long-term, inclusive national development.Fundamentally, the Beyond Education initiative aims to establish practical routes to work and socioeconomic mobility in addition to offering scholarships.
Beyond Education, Sterling Bank’s most comprehensive education-focused initiative to date, was introduced in June 2025.Undergraduate tuition at two progressive, authorized universities—Hillside University of Science & Technology (HUST), a STEM-focused campus in Ekiti State, and Miva Open University, Nigeria’s first licensed online private university—is fully covered by the scholarship.
Beyond Education, in contrast to traditional scholarship programs, is purposefully created to assist Nigeria’s vital development objective.
It is in line with Sterling’s HEART plan, which is an investment structure that emphasizes transportation, renewable energy, agriculture, health, and education.
