Nasir El-Rufai, a prominent member of the opposition coalition and a former governor of Kaduna State, has urged the state’s citizens to support the Social Democratic Party, or SDP, in Saturday’s local elections.
El-Rufai stated that voters in the state’s Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas ought to support SDP candidates.
He is a member of the opposition coalition that recently adopted the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, at the time of his call.
The coalition, which consists of prominent Nigerians, thinks the All Progressives Congress, or APC, led by President Bola Tinubu, will lose in 2027.
But in a video posted to his Facebook page, El-Rufai said: “This is your former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
“The purpose of this message is to urge all voters in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government to cast their ballots for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidates in large numbers on Saturday.”
