As the country’s revenue sharing formula is being reviewed by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), economic and development experts have advocated for greater accountability at the subnational levels.

At a press conference held by the RMAFC in Abuja on Monday, they revealed the information, emphasizing the necessity of ring-fencing as states are expected to get additional funding.

Nigeria’s structure for allocating revenue among the federal, state, and local governments is being reexamined, according to the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).Dr. Mohammed Shehu, the commission’s hairman, said at the briefing that the review was long overdue because of the country’s changing political and economic climate.
