Senior New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chieftain Buba Galadima has emphasized the dangers of speaking out in Nigerian politics.
Reflecting on his decades-long involvement in politics, Galadima said in an interview with Channels Television that honesty frequently comes at a political and personal cost.
Because Nigeria dislikes my type, he claimed, “I’m the worst man in the Nigerian context, not bad.”
He went on to say that leaders who challenge authority are frequently purposefully kept out of influential positions.
Even his daughter, who was elected to a councilor position, was denied her rights due to her affiliation with him, he recalled.
Galadima said, “This demonstrates how vindictive politics can be in Nigeria, where people are punished for their affiliations rather than their actions.”
