Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the general elections of 2023, has urged young Nigerians to register and cast ballots in the upcoming general elections of 2027, emphasizing that God would not descend to choose the nation’s leaders.
In a post published on Sunday through his official X handle, Obi made this appeal, stating that it is the duty of the younger generation of Nigerians to shape the nation’s future.
He underlined that the most effective defense against poor leadership is the voter’s card.
The Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province hosted the National Youth Rally yesterday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Awka, where I joined thousands of young people to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, or CYON,” he wrote.
The politician went on to say that young people are responsible for building the nation.
He added that in order to create a better Nigeria, the people must elect leaders who possess these qualities: competence, capacity, compassion, and character.
