2027: Enugu East stakeholders: Mbah is our political party; Nnaji has no place

Enugu East Senatorial zone stakeholders have stated that they would fully support Governor Peter Mbah regardless of political party in response to pressure on him to switch to the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

Prior to the general elections in 2027, a number of APC leaders in the state have been urging the governor to join the party, according to BASEMEDIA.

Despite the fact that the zone is thought to have remained loyal to the PDP more than any other region, Governor Mbah and other South-East leaders within the party have expressed their displeasure with the treatment given to it.

This has increased the likelihood that Mbah will give in to pressure and join the APC.

They stated that Mbah is their political party at a gathering of Enugu East stakeholders on Sunday, and that anyone who plans to buy a governorship form in 2027 in order to run against the governor might be squandering their money.

In reiterating his call for Mbah to join the APC, one of the stakeholders, Barr Ben Nwoye, a former state APC chairman, called Chief Uche Nnaji a sleeping minister who has no place in the government house.
