Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, a former lawmaker who served as the representative for Abia North, has distanced himself from a statement issued by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which criticized Governor Alex Otti for allegedly mismanaging allocations.
He claimed that some individuals had slyly added item five to the communique that was in circulation in order to sow discord against Otti.
Ohuobunwa made the disclaimer on Monday through his media office, stating that the announcement made following the Abia North PDP stakeholders’ meeting on August 30, 2025, at his rural residence, caught his attention.
He pointed out that although item five, which allegedly cast doubt on the accomplishments of the current administration in Abia State, was never discussed, the communiqué generally reflected the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and forward-looking deliberations that defined the meeting.
“Just to be clear, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa did not write, support, or subscribe to any statement implying that the positions held by His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the governor of Abia State, are not in line with the state’s financial inflows,” he stated.
