In Birnin Kebbi, alleged political thugs ambushed the convoy of former Justice Minister and Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami (SAN). Shortly after he returned from a visit of condolence to the family of the late Chief Imam of Dr. Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque, the incident occurred along Old NITEL Road.
Security personnel were later sent to the scene, the All Progressives Congress (APC) state headquarters, and Malami’s home to quell additional disturbances after witnesses claimed that the attackers, brandishing dangerous weapons, had damaged multiple vehicles in the convoy.In response, Malami said, “It’s painful some thugs armed with dangerous weapons and stones, attacked and destroyed vehicles in our convoy.” He called the attack regrettable.
