Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker who served in the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has criticized Nasir El-Rufai, the state’s immediate former governor, for allegedly promoting political thuggery and undermining democratic values while in office.
After El-Rufai and the Kaduna State Government engaged in a blame game over suspected thugs disrupting the inauguration of the ADC coalition’s transition committee members in the state over the weekend, the former senator made this statement.
Speaking on TVC’s “Politics Tonight” program on Monday, Sani claimed that because the former governor never took part in the fight to restore democracy in Nigeria, he lacked a genuine understanding of the concept.
Because they did not fight for democracy, individuals like Nasir have no idea what it means to be in a position or office.
Prior to 1999, he was unknown, and he joined the PDP. For one, he has never been in the cell. He’s never been incarcerated. Sani stated, “He has never worn handcuffs.”
Additionally, he claimed that while El-Rufai was in office, he encouraged a culture of political violence in Kaduna.
