Benue monarchs and political figures from the state’s Gboko Local Government Area have sworn allegiance to Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Additionally, they reaffirmed their steadfast support and allegiance to his administration.
This was said by the monarchs and political figures during a visit to Gov. Alia at Government House in Makurdi as a show of courtesy and solidarity. Speaking to reporters following a private meeting with the governor, Barr. Torseer Yina, the chairman of Gboko Local Government, stated that the purpose of the visit was to show the community’s unwavering support for Governor Alia.We Gboko Local Government stakeholders met with him to reiterate our dedication to this administration. In order to support the governor in his current and future endeavors, we pledge our undivided loyalty to him. He emphasized that the delegation’s goal was to support the governor wholeheartedly, adding:
“From the perspective of Gboko Local Government, the governor is our blood, our own, and we fully support him.”
Speaking as well, HRH Chief Gabriel Shosum, the Ter Gboko, clarified that the visit was not political but rather an expression of appreciation for the governor’s progress, especially in Gboko.
We have gathered here to honor our own governor’s accomplishments over the last two years and his ongoing efforts.
In Gboko, he has started a lot of projects. Township roads are still being built, the underpass is roughly 99% finished, and several elementary schools now have nearly finished modern buildings.
He also praised Governor Alia for appointing sons and daughters to political positions, citing the recent swearing-in of commissioners and the appointment of Mr. Joseph Kwaghgba as Acting Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS).
