Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s spokesperson, Segun Sowunmi, has reaffirmed that he is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
When answering questions during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Monday, Sowunmi made this clear.
“I would have decamped to the APC if I had wanted to, but not just now. I continue to be a PDP member.
Nigerians are quite humorous. Since 1998, I have supported this party. You think I would abandon my party for a single handshake with the president, whom I’ve known since 1994? That isn’t how it operates.
“You must understand that after about 26 years in democracy, it gets to a point where you will start asking questions: is this democracy really working? Why are people not happy? Is it possible for us to start reaching an agreement on development? If not, countries are abandoning us,” he declared.
