A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Ulasi, has stated that only God can decide whether the party will win the presidency in the 2027 general elections. Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Ulasi acknowledged that although the PDP is working to restructure ahead of the polls, its ultimate success rests in divine hands.
He highlighted that during the party’s recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, at least seven PDP governors were present, describing their participation as an encouraging sign of unity and renewed commitment to strengthening the party.
Ulasi also emphasized that the PDP has zoned its presidential ticket to the South, stressing that fairness requires it to be further micro-zoned to the South East, which has yet to produce a president since the return to democratic governance.
According to him, “Only God can determine whether PDP will produce the next president in 2027. We can only plan and hope, but the outcome remains in God’s hands. The important thing is that the party is reorganizing, and with unity and honesty, zoning the ticket to the South East would be the fairest option.”
