In a separate ceremony, Governor Seyi Makinde will present former Oyo State Governor Oba Rashidi Ladoja with the official staff and instruments of office at the iconic Mapo Hall. Ladoja previously received the symbolic Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, and now he has ascended to the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanlan. The traditional crowning took place at the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan South-East Local Government AreaAccording to information obtained by the Daily Post, Makinde took time out of his yearly vacation on Thursday to attend the historic occasion, which attracted dignitaries and other notable people including Gbenga Daniel under strict security. Ladoja’s promotion comes after Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan, died on July 7, 2025. There will likely be more coronation updates.
