The ISO/IEC 27701:2019 accreditation for Privacy Information Management Systems (PIMS) has been granted to the Bank of Industry (BOI).
The Bank’s current ISO/IEC 27001:2022 accreditation, which was initially acquired in 2019, is extended by this certification, which is granted by the British Standards Institution (BSI), a worldwide renowned auditing and certification authority.
The main international privacy standard, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, complies with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other international privacy standards.BOI is Nigeria’s second bank and first Development Finance Institution (DFI) to obtain ISO/IEC 27701:2019 certification.
According to a statement from Theodora Amechi, Divisional Head, Public Relations, “This milestone reflects the Bank’s commitment to global best practices in privacy and security.”
