65th Independence: Fintiri urges Nigerians to embrace diversity as a source of strength

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has called on Nigerians to unite and make the country’s diversity their greatest asset.

Speaking at the Independence Day celebration held at Ribadu Square in Yola on Wednesday, Fintiri likened Nigeria’s many differences to rivers that converge into one powerful stream, emphasizing that true strength lies in embracing diversity.

“Like rivers that flow into one mighty stream, our differences must flow into one shared destiny,” he said.

Fintiri stressed that a divided Adamawa, like a divided Nigeria, cannot endure.

“As we mark this day, let us renew a sacred pledge: to make independence matter, not just in words, but through real, visible change,” he added.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements, the governor noted efforts to rebuild classrooms and improve education, revitalize healthcare as a foundation for a strong society, connect communities through roads and bridges, and prioritize peace as essential for development.
