Fabio Capello, the former manager of Real Madrid and England, has stated his opinion that Arsenal, a Premier League team, can upset Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and earn a place in this season’s UEFA Champions League final.
Following Arsenal’s thrilling victory over Real Madrid in the quarterfinals and their subsequent advancement to the semi-finals, Fabio Capello made these remarks.
Capello emphasized Arsenal’s key attributes this season, highlighting their breadth of quality, squad’s well-balanced composition, and their exceptional on-field physical condition.
Although he acknowledged that both clubs have shown incredible talent throughout the competition, he thinks Arsenal has an intangible advantage.
“Like PSG right now, Arsenal has it all: quality, balance on the field, and good physical condition,” Capello said in an interview at the Laureus World Sports Awards.
He did, however, contend that Arsenal currently has that “something extra” in their group, pointing to their caliber and physical prowess as differentiators.
Both squads have cultivated a strong team spirit, yet Capello underscored Arsenal’s character and individual personalities, which he believes could be pivotal in crucial match moments.
“They play together, they work together. The pace of their matches is impressively high,” he remarked. “It will be a very good match, but if I had to place a wager, I would lean towards Arsenal emerging as the superior team.”
As the stage is set for an intense clash, the winner between Arsenal and PSG will face the champion of the other semi-final tie, featuring Barcelona and Inter Milan in May.
