The Kebbi State House of Assembly has passed a bill to create a Senior Secondary Education Board aimed at improving the management and quality of secondary education in the state.
The bill was passed on Tuesday after the House Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, led by Muhammad Garba Bena, presented its report following legislative review and consultation with stakeholders.
Bena explained that the new board will be tasked with formulating policies that align with national standards, managing resources, and advancing student welfare throughout Kebbi’s senior secondary schools.
The Speaker, Mohammed Usman Zuru, commented that the establishment of the board would enhance coordination and performance, asserting the need for stronger educational structures to prepare students for academic and career success.
The bill is now slated to be sent to Governor Nasir Idris for his approval.
