The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has made a significant investment in the next generation of leaders who will continue to spearhead the continent’s financial and economic transformation by enrolling 700 young professionals in the Graduate Management Accelerated Programme (GMAP). The bank honored graduates from Nigeria and other African nations where it conducts business at the graduation ceremony, which took place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Landmark Events Centre in Lagos.Since the program’s inception more than three years ago, the GMAP has graduated well over 4,000 banking and finance professionals while offering them the mentorship, training, and practical experience needed to advance their careers. UBA’s Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu; Deputy Group Managing Director, Chukwuma Nweke; and other Board Members, Executive Management, and faculty members were present to welcome the newly graduated professionals into the UBA Tribe.Elumelu, who called the graduates “lions and lionesses,” reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to developing the continent’s next generation of driven and capable leaders. We are glad to have you join our tribe. The new cohorts were tasked with taking command of their careers, demonstrating initiative, and leading the way in technological, customer experience, and sustainability transformation. They now join UBA’s family of over 25,000 employees.
