Lawmaker: You’ll regret switching to the APC, the PDP mocks

The Zamfara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially reacted to the defection of Assembly member Hon. Marahazu Salisu Faru to the APC, stating that the move came as no surprise.
Warning to Defector: Through its Publicity Secretary Halliru Andi, the PDP issued a stark warning to Faru, cautioning that politicians who prioritize “personal interest above the collective will of the people often find themselves on the wrong side of history.”
Counter-Accusation on APC: The party immediately shifted to the offensive, accusing the APC of being the root cause of the “hunger, insecurity, and corruption ravaging Zamfara and the entire nation.” The PDP claims the people still remember the “pain and neglect” they suffered during the previous APC administration.
Defense of Governor Lawal: In contrast, the PDP defended Governor Dauda Lawal, praising him for “restoring hope, rebuilding institutions, and securing the lives and livelihoods of the people.” The party asserted that the Governor’s ongoing reforms prove that the PDP is the “party of progress and compassion.”
Confidence in Future: The PDP remains confident, stating that Faru will “soon regret his decision” because the people of Zamfara are determined to stand firmly with the PDP. The party concluded by urging its members to remain united, declaring that “no defection can shake our foundation.”
Essentially, the PDP dismissed the defection as a self-serving act and pivoted to blaming the APC for all of the state’s woes while branding Governor Lawal as the savior.
