In Taraba, troops rescue a kidnapped victim.

Troops from the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, part of Operation Lafiya Nakowa, successfully rescued kidnapped victim Alhaji Ali Adamu in a rapid action in the Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The rescue occurred on October 29, 2025, after a distress call reported that Alhaji Adamu had been taken while sleeping outside his home, as per a statement by Army Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad.
Soldiers in Lau quickly launched a pursuit based on the information. The abductors, feeling the pressure, abandoned the victim and fled into the bush, resulting in Alhaji Adamu being safely reunited with his family without any ransom being paid.
In a related incident the same morning, local vigilantes and hunters patrolling near Maraban Kunini captured a 30-year-old suspect, Mr. Lalau Adamu, believed to be involved in the kidnapping.
The Army reported that the suspect suffered injuries from a mob before the troops arrived. He was then moved under military escort to a medical facility for treatment, and the investigation is ongoing.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade, praised the quick teamwork between the military, vigilantes, and hunters, calling their cooperation essential to the mission’s success. He also reminded the public to keep sharing timely, reliable information with security agencies to maintain stability in Taraba State.
