The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, successfully ambushed Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists near Hudugum village in Borno State, killing two insurgents.
The operation, part of “Desert Sanity IV/Diligent Search,” was carried out on Wednesday by troops of the 192 Battalion alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the troops intercepted the terrorists’ logistics team around 6:30 p.m., leading to a gun battle.
Two terrorists were neutralized, while others fled toward the Mandara Mountains with injuries. The troops recovered several logistics items (bicycles, clothing, solar panels, etc.). The operation was a complete success, as no casualties or equipment losses were recorded by the troops, who returned safely to base. Follow-up operations were planned for the next morning.
