Manchester City overcame Bournemouth 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and a fast-paced brace. The fact that their title competitors had all won their games the day before informed Pep Guardiola’s team going into the encounter. Haaland broke free to put City ahead, despite surviving an early attack from the visitors. Tyler Adams bundled the ball home in the 25th minute to give Bournemouth the equalizer. However, Haaland scored once more as the defending champs led going into halftime. Then, Nico O’Reilly scored the home team’s third goal. With 19 points, City now sits six points behind leaders Arsenal as a result of the outcome.
