Nigeria Immigration reports a brief interruption to the passport application process.

The Nigeria Immigration Service announced that its digital platform for passports will be temporarily unavailable due to routine system maintenance, which will cause service disruptions for users. The immigration spokesperson, Akinsola Akinlabi, issued a statement on Friday confirming that this maintenance period is scheduled to occur from 12:00 a.m. on December 12th until 6:00 a.m. on December 14th, 2025, using the GMT time zone. The service informed the public that this routine maintenance is necessary to improve system performance and enhance the overall experience for users of the Passport Digital Platform. The statement indicated that during these hours, users should anticipate experiencing temporary breaks in service, slower response times, or restricted availability of certain passport-related services offered by the NIS. The Service appealed for patience, stressing that this exercise is vital for upholding a secure and effective digital system for passports.
