As the NPFL First Stanza concludes, Pillars defeat Nasarawa Utd 3-0.

The first round of the 2025–2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season concluded yesterday with the “Masu Gida Boys” crushing championship contenders Nasarawa United 3-0, sending Kano Pillars home with a bang. Mustapha Umar opened the score in the 28th minute to give the home team a 1-0 lead at halftime in Pillars’ first game at the Sani Abacha Stadium since they were banished to the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium Katsina in October due to crowd unrest.Chiedozie Okorie extended Pillars’ lead in the 68th minute after play resumed, and Mustpaha Jibrin’s third goal in the 72nd minute clinched the win. It’s interesting to note that El-Kanemi Warriors, Katsina United, and Abia Warriors all won away games against Bayelsa United, Kun Khalifat, and Plateau United, respectively. Just as Abubakar Taheer’s goal in the 68th minute gave Abia Warriors victory over Plateau United in Jos, Christopher Ezinwa scored in the 40th minute for Katsina United to defeat Kun Khalifat 1-0, while El-Kanemi Warriors held fast to a goal in the first half to win 1-0 in Yenagoa.Enyimba defeated 3SC 3-0 in Aba. Ufere Chinedu opened the score in the sixteenth minute in a one-way traffic situation, and Ezekiel Edidiong and Chidera Michael each scored in the second half to seal the victory.
