South Africa was the fourth side to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final 16.On Monday night, Bafana Bafana defeated rivals Zimbabwe 3-2 in a thrilling five-goal match. Tawanda Maswanhise equalized in the 19th minute after Tshepang Moremi gave Hugo Broos’ team the lead. Five minutes after halftime, Lyle Foster gave South Africa the lead again, but in the 73rd minute, Aubrey Modiba tied the score. Oswin Appollis scored the game-winning goal from the penalty spot with eight minutes left. South Africa now has six points, one less than Egypt, who won the group. Along with Nigeria and Algeria, both teams have advanced to the next round.
