According to Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, his team has accomplished something that has never been done in the club’s history.
After leading Arsenal to the Champions League semifinals on Wednesday, Arteta was speaking.
The Spaniard observed the Gunners’ 0-0 stalemate with Sporting CP in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal match at the Emirates Stadium.
With a 1-0 aggregate victory, Arteta’s team advanced to the Champions League semifinals.
After making it to this level of the competition last season, the Premier League leaders will now play Atletico Madrid in the final four later this month.
“My message was gratitude to [the players],” Arteta stated in his post-match interview following Arsenal’s goalless draw with Sporting. I am aware of their dedication and hard work.
“It took a lot of work, and we accomplished something that has never been done in our club’s history.” We had to do it in a unique way because several key players were absent, so we deserve a lot of praise for that.
