The March Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards went to Kennedy Boboye, the head coach, and Jean Efala, the captain of Akwa United.
During the reviewed period, goalie Efala kept four clean sheets in five games.
To win, the Cameroonian defeated his teammate Uche Sebastian, Sunshine Stars’ Liman Ahmadu, Enyimba’s Joseph Atule, Abia Warriors’ Sunday Megwo, and Remo Stars’ Samson Olasupo.
In five games this month, coach Boboye led Akwa United to four victories and one draw.
To win the prize, he defeated challenges from Mangut Mbwas of Plateau United, Ladan Bosso of Bayelsa United, and Finidi George of Rivers United.
It was the first time an Akwa United coach or player has taken home the honor this season.
