2025 AMAS: Tyla wins Favourite Afrobeats Artist ahead of Wizkid, Tems, Rema [Full list]

At the 2025 American Music Awards, held on Monday night at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, South African singer Tyla continued her dominance over fellow African artists by winning the highly coveted Favourite Afrobeats Artist award.

The creator of the ‘Water’ hit battled against renowned Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake.

In 2022, Wizkid clinched the inaugural Favourite Afrobeats Artist award at the AMAS, propelled by the success of his hit track “Essence.”

The biggest winner of the night, however, is Billie Eilish, who won all her seven nominations, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

The biggest snubs are Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, who lost all of their nominations.

Eminem won his first AMA in 15 years and he took home the awards for the Favourite Male Hip-hop Artist as well as Favourite Hip-hop Album.
