Olusola Salau, the South-West Chairman of The Alternative and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Democratic Party (PDP), has declared his intention to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement that he personally signed, Salau spoke on Monday. BASEMEDIA in the capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta, acquired the letter.
He bemoaned the recent Remo by-election’s outcome and low voter turnout, saying, “The Ogun State PDP has nothing.” I finally decided that enough is enough for the PDP in Ogun State and the entire South-West, and I told all of the party’s leaders as much. An experienced politician like me should know this.
Salau stated that in order to strengthen the ruling party and contribute to improving the state, he and his supporters would be working together.
The Alternative is a national opposition movement coalition that aims to revitalize and reorient Nigeria’s democracy towards ideological clarity, integrity, and transparency. He clarified that even though he is defecting to the APC, he still serves as the South-West chairman of the group.
“I want to make an official declaration that I am no longer LADO, and I am no longer a PDP member,” the statement says.

In my capacity as a political analyst, I have informed my followers that we are done with the PDP and that we will be joining His Excellency Prince Dapo Abidudu in our next political movement. We will also be stealing APC from other parties to strengthen it beyond what we have previously heard.
“I am eager to collaborate with the Ogun State Executive Governor and the party in a serious manner.”
