Austrian economist and pro-NATO supporter Gunther Fehlinger urged US President Donald Trump and the European Union (EU) to “liberate Biafra Republic.” Fehlinger, via a Monday post on X, called Nigeria a “failed nation.” He claimed the world failed the secessionist group during their 1967–1970 “liberation war,” which is to the “eternal shame” of the free world. Fehlinger wrote: “I call the EU to recognize the Biafra Republic emerging out of failed #ExNigeria… We must make up for our failure and endorse the Biafra Republic now @POTUS.” In a Sunday post, Gunther also specifically called on “America to liberate Biafra Republic.” This call occurs amid claims of Christian genocide in Nigeria.
