Veteran journalist Reuben Abati, who served as former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity, has attacked FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, claiming he lacks the moral authority to make careless and stupid remarks about Peter Obi, Goodluck Jonathan, and Nasir El-Rufai.
Abati advised the minister to examine his own morality instead of disparaging other political rivals.
This was said on Tuesday by Abati, the main anchor of the well-liked morning talk show Morning Show on Arise TV.
The statement follows Wike’s mocking dismissal of Obi’s possible return to the PDP during his monthly media roundtable in Abuja on Monday.
Jonathan was also counseled by the minister not to run for president in 2027.
However, Abati asserted that since Wike was already a member of another political party, he could not decide the future of the People’s Democratic Party.
He stated: “He is now claiming that the PDP will be destroyed if Mr. Peter Obi rejoins the party because he lacks the moral character to return to the PDP after denouncing it as a corrupt organization.
“Wike is not qualified to discuss character. Alright, he has no business discussing character. In fact, he ought to examine his own character if he discusses it.
“I don’t understand why people struggle with basic decency and intelligence. When he appears on television, he claims that Peter Obi lacks character. After switching from the PDP to the Labor Party, Peter Obi is currently in the ADC. The party was actually ruined by Wike himself.
