Abure’s LP faction demands that lawmakers question Ogene about a classified document that belongs with the IGP.

Afam Ogene, a member of the House of Representatives, has been invited and questioned by the Nigerian Police to explain the origin of the document he allegedly obtained from the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) office, according to the leadership of the Julius Abure faction of the Labour Party.
Ogene was accused of attempting to cyberbully the AGF in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday by Obiora Ifoh, the party’s national publicity secretary.

Ifoh said that the purported paper was classified and shouldn’t be in Ogene’s possession.

If Ogene persisted in his accusation, the faction threatened to remove him and place him under recall.

Ifoh said, “A classified document, which should be with the IGP or the minister of justice, cannot be in Ogene’s possession.

“He is expected to contribute to making laws in the National Assembly. How come he is now privy to classified documents from the IGP and AGF’s office?

“If, therefore, any of such documents are in existence, IGP should interrogate him.

“He has been suspended from the party for his incapability to lead the party caucus in NASS (National Assembly).”

Ifoh claimed that Ogene had turned to dirty fighting as a result of his suspension.

“He and his backers were shocked by the Supreme Court’s decision, which put an end to their nefarious plans, since they had anticipated that Abure’s leadership would have been removed by now.

“He is a disservice to the people of his constituency, so we will also institute his recall from his constituency,” he stated.
