Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has taken his yearly leave, according to information obtained by BASEMEDIA.
Her Excellency Princess Patricia Obila, who has been serving as the Acting Governor since the Governor took her yearly leave, received a letter from the Ebonyi State House of Assembly yesterday transferring executive powers to her.
It was determined that this complies with section 190 (1) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 constitution, as amended.
In the meantime, Princess Patricia Obila, the Acting Governor of Ebonyi State, has emphasized how irrigation can greatly increase crop yields and support food security in Nigeria as well as throughout West Africa and the Sahel subregions.
These statements were made by Princess Obila during the National and Regional Hand in Hand Investment Forum on Irrigation’s opening ceremony in Abuja, which was hosted by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in association with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
The forum’s goal was to set a course for increasing agricultural productivity in Nigeria, West Africa, and the Sahel subregions, the Acting Governor confirmed.
Using Nigeria’s enormous agricultural potential, she praised President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative in Agriculture.
Princess Obila reaffirmed the state governor’s (Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru) dedication to agricultural development through the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.
She stated that in order to guarantee economic diversification and job creation, the administration was working on projects to improve agricultural productivity, encourage irrigation, and assist farmers.
