African Democratic Congress, ADC, South-East zone, has established a Disciplinary Committee to investigate the crisis rocking its Abia State chapter.
According to the party leadership, the Abia chapter is currently experiencing a series of divergent interests as a result of the coalition process, which tends to change its leadership structure.
A press statement signed by its Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chilos Godsent, revealed that its Abia chapter has experienced a new wave of power struggle, with thousands of coalition partners joining its ranks.
“The surge is an inevitable development that could boost synergy among party members, but it has inevitably sparked some misunderstandings,” the party spokesperson said.
Under the direction of Sir Bon Unachukwu, the party’s National Vice Chairman, Southeast, Godsent suggested that members of the Zonal leadership called an emergency session in Owerri, Imo State, to resolve the conflict and maintain unity.
In order to guarantee that the party’s advancement remained unimpeded, he added, the zonal leadership reaffirmed its commitment to reestablishing harmony and unity within its Abia chapter.
In order to address the issue, a three-person Investigative and Disciplinary Committee was established.
“Dr. Uche Edeh is the chairman of the committee, Barr. Anyanwu Chioma Joy is the secretary, and Chilos Godsent is a member,” he said.
According to the party spokesperson, the Committee’s main responsibilities include interacting with factional groups, involving key leaders and stakeholders, examining petitions and pertinent documents, and formulating recommendations that will result in a peaceful resolution of the crisis.
