Dele Momodu, a seasoned journalist, has outlined his reasons for favoring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the African Democratic Congress’ (ADC) presidential candidate.
Ahead of the general election in 2027, Momodu claimed that Atiku has the numbers and is a major challenge to President Bola Tinubu.
He made this claim in an interview on Monday’s Politics Today show on Channels Television.
He claimed that Atiku’s business practices, which included investments in agriculture and education, are an excellent example of what a leader ought to be.
Momodu stated: “I stated that my candidate would be the greatest option. There is nothing wrong with that, which is what I anticipate the “Obidents” and those who are rooting for Rotimi Amaechi will say.
“The figures are the first thing I’m examining. This is a numerical game. And those from the northern region of Nigeria are the ones who are most in agreement now.
They are all advocating for the next president to still come from southern Nigeria, if you paid close attention to Wike’s speech. However, they are well aware that there are no Southerners left in the world today. Wike is the only person who could have tried it. Additionally, he already backs Tinubu.
“The moment you see people waging a campaign of calumny against Atiku, you must know he poses a great threat. Even my brother ( Daniel Bwala), who is about to come on now, I listened to him a few days ago appealing to Atiku to come and join their team.
“We they all know how formidable Atiku is since 1993 when he stepped down for his abducted father, who sadly died on this day in 1998, since then the man has been pursuing his ambition without having any state governor to give him money.
“He’s been running his business, investing in education, investing in agriculture. For me, this is a good example of what a leader should be.
“There is never a thug in front of Atiku’s residence in Nigeria. In my opinion, he presented these ideas, so I have the right to express them. Never once have I urged anyone to oppose Peter Obi. Today, Obi is one of my closest friends. Obi is among those who, in my opinion, ought to be in charge of the coalition.
And I’m appealing to them as a Democrat. Instead of saying, “Oh, they forced one person on them,” I hope they can do it democratically. All of them should go to the fields. Let every Obedient advocate for Obi. Let everyone campaign for Amaechi and Atiku as well.That’s what I think, and I don’t see anything wrong with that. The coalition’s complete readiness and readiness makes me glad.
