After 24 years of fight, MASSOB says there is no turning back on Biafra.

According to the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), the fight for Biafra’s actualization will not end.

It stated that the fight for self-determination would go on using nonviolent principles.

This was said in a statement signed by MASSOB leader Comrade Uchenna Madu and released on Sunday.

As we commemorate the 24th anniversary of MASSOB’s founding on September 13, 1999, we pay tribute to our kin who lost their lives to Nigerian security forces during the Biafra conflict,” Madu stated.

He said that heroic, nonviolent MASSOB members gave their lives in defense of the Biafra cause.

The armed security personnel of our captors tortured, enthralled, degraded, and mercilessly murdered them.

others of the surviving MASSOB activists are still devastated, others have died from shock, and some are living ghosts of themselves as they commemorate the parents of our fallen heroes today.

We are steadfastly, continuously, and unwaveringly pushing for Biafra to become an independent state from Nigeria,” he continued.

“The answer to the numerous subjective slavery Nigeria subjected Ndi Igbo into, ranging from political, economic, academic, religious, cultural, and social slavery,” Madu said of Biafra.

“True nationhood has yet to emerge in Nigeria today. Nigeria has yet to achieve peace, justice, and equity, and it is still in peril.

These indisputable facts are the cause of the Nigerian State’s fear of Biafra, which stands for the reality that they are unable to adequately refute.

“Because Biafran agitators speak out against the truth that Nigeria knows they are guilty of, Nigeria uses repression, persecution, killings, and detention of Biafran agitators out of weakness, jitteriness, and fear.”

“MASSOB has decided that our long journey to freedom, which has lasted for 24 years, can never be compromised, jeopardized, or corrupted,” he added.
