After repairing its damaged 132kV Owerri–Ahoada transmission line, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has restored bulk energy supplies to Bayelsa and portions of Rivers State.
In a statement released Monday in Abuja, TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, stated that the line was linked to the grid on April 11 at approximately 6 p.m.
According to Mbah, the connection came after the line’s rehabilitation efforts were finished because of vandalism that resulted in the collapse of four transmission towers.
The Port Harcourt energy Distribution Company (PHEDC) may now provide energy to Bayelsa and portions of Rivers as a result of this restoration.
“Since towers 71 to 74 on the transmission line route were vandalized on March 11, these areas have been experiencing outages,” she stated.
“TCN is committed to delivering dependable power throughout the country and encourages communities to join the fight against the vandalism of critical transmission installations,” she said.
