Airlines to receive dry-leased aircraft as Air Peace acquires E190

On the previous day, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) announced that Nigerian airlines would begin to receive dry-lease aircraft from global lessors.

The operators noted that this was enabled by the work of Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and stated that with the arrival of the aircraft, the domestic airlines’ fleet would expand.

In a statement yesterday, the AON representing indigenous carriers made this remark, coinciding with Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest carrier, acquiring a new Embraer 190 aircraft to enhance its fleet.
Mr. Allen Onyema, vice president of AON, praised Keyamo in a statement β€œfor his exceptional dedication to the growth and sustainability of local airlines in Nigeria.”
